Access4All - part of the service design

  • Social and Health Services

"How can we bring better awareness to the residents of the South Moravian Region about the existing social and health services that can be used today?"

This is the challenge we are currently facing at JINAG and will be overcoming in the coming months. As part of our activities, we want to create a network of system partners with whom we will work together in the long term in the upcoming project. In the course of the project we want to look for the right answers to the question "What to do if?".

Access4All - part of the service design Access4All - part of the service design

Why?

The South Moravian Region faces a challenge in linking the supply of social and health services with their potential users. Although there is a wide range of services, many residents are unaware of them or do not have effective access to them. This problem can affect all of us at different stages of our lives.

Often people only become interested in social and health services when they or their loved ones are in acute need. Such an approach often leads to finding inappropriate solutions or to frustration and exhaustion in trying to navigate the social and health assistance on offer. This approach is compounded by information overload and fragmentation of resources, which overwhelms users and prevents them from effectively accessing relevant information.

The absence of a simple guide causes people to be unable to navigate the complex system of services effectively, leading to inefficient use of available resources and support.

What?

Increasing the awareness of the inhabitants of the South Moravian Region about social and health services.

How?

The project is divided into six phases:

  • Initial strategic block
  • Preparation of user research
  • User research
  • Second strategic block
  • Design of possible solutions to the problem
  • Evaluation of proposals and recommendations for further development

What does this mean for people?

The project will bring significant improvements in people's information and access to social and health services. By proactively informing and pooling resources, people will be better prepared for changes in their lives and will not have to make decisions under pressure.

Getting up-to-date and relevant information will be easier, reducing the stress and confusion of getting it. Improved communication between the health and social care sectors will improve the quality of care and enable doctors and nurses to deliver the services needed more effectively. Creating a system solution will ensure long-term sustainability and regular updates of information.

Increased emphasis on prevention and early intervention will contribute to a better prepared population for ageing and care of loved ones. The use of digital technologies and community-based approaches will facilitate access to information for all citizens.

Current progress

As part of the initial strategy block, we analysed the needs and expectations of key stakeholders and project partners and organised an initial framing workshop based on our findings.

The aim of the initial stakeholder interviews was to map the social and health frontier environment in JmK. To find out what are the needs of individual stakeholders, what are the problems of clients of existing services and what opportunities can be found in exploring the social-health frontier.

The ongoing progress of the project activities can be followed in a continuously updated online document. As each phase is completed, we will add key findings and shifts so that it is easy for the outside world to understand what phase the project is currently in and what we are currently working on.

The Access4All project – the service design part took place in four main phases according to the Double Diamond model: first, an introductory strategic block, then user research, a second strategic block, and finally a phase of designing specific solutions aimed at improving information in the social and health care sector. In the initial phase, interviews were conducted with stakeholders, and the needs and problems of users were mapped, revealing primarily low awareness, fragmentation of information sources, barriers between sectors, and the need for a systemic solution. In the second phase, the research focused on gaining an in-depth understanding of these barriers, identifying target groups and key insights that formed the basis for conceptual solutions. This was followed by an ideation workshop, during which various proposals were generated—for example, the "Support Compass" advisory network and the "Bridges to Adulthood" educational program. The project's output is an analysis of the population's awareness of social and health services in the South Moravian Region, along with four prototype solutions designed to increase awareness of available social and health services and other sources of support in the region.

The outputs of the design part are accessible and open for subsequent use, and JINAG intends to implement them.
