The Polámané site in Kyjov was formerly the site of underground lignite mining, which was ceased several decades ago. Today, the unused part of the site is occupied by a large black dump, which dates back to the 1950s and is up to 15 metres high.
Questions about the further use of this area, which will lead to an increase in the quality of life of the citizens of Kyjov, the development of the town, culture, sports, social activities, tourism or traditions, and with a positive impact on the environment and energy self-sufficiency, were addressed at the Possible Landscapes Session led by the Dutch agency BioBased Creations.
The workshop was organised within the framework of the @Plus Change project of the @Horizon EU programme, which is based on the need to change the way we manage land, in cooperation with the city of Kyjov and workshop was attended by representatives of local companies, citizens, city management and professionals.
And what ideas did they come up with for the use of the site?
Possible Landscapes Session is a creative facilitator-led meeting format that engages participants in discussion, breaks down barriers to communication, exposes blind spots, and connects participants. The session itself is a starting point for new relationships and collaborations. The entire discussion is visualized through an artist.
This workshop was funded by the Horizon Europe PLUS Change project.
