Support for the transformation of social services in the South Moravian Region

The South Moravian Region responds to the needs of people with disabilities. People with disabilities have the right to live a normal life, to be part of the community and to have the opportunity to play various social roles. They also need more individualised care and integration into mainstream life in order to improve their quality of life.

The aim of the project is to support the South Moravian Region in the transformation of social services. Emin and Habrovanský zámek are currently undergoing a full transformation; these facilities will be abandoned and closed by 2027. We helped with the preparation of the project application to the Operational Programme Employment+, which was successful. We also helped to develop the organisational structure of the process and implement project management into the social services transformation process at the regional level.

The system project focuses on methodological support for social service institutions in the process of change. We support emerging and existing community services and provide system and project support with an emphasis on participation, communication and service learning. 

Together with the South Moravian Region, we opened the gates to a better tomorrow for people with disabilities. People who have been living in institutional social service facilities will become ordinary citizens of the new municipality. They will have space for self-development and to live according to their wishes. Through the transformation of social services, we are contributing not only to the improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities, but also to the development of individual and high-quality social services.

The project application was successful. The project has been in the implementation phase since 1 April 2023 and its management is now in the hands of the South Moravian Region. 

A new organisational structure has been set up at the Region, thanks to which the project team consisting of representatives of the concerned departments of the Region meets regularly with the management of the contributory organisation in transition and manages the process in a coordinated manner.
