Conference: Assistive Technology: Inspiration from the Regions

How can assistive technologies truly improve people's quality of life at home, in the community, and in social services? How can they be effectively implemented, and what role can regions and municipalities play in this? Answers to these questions will be provided by the conference Assistive Technologies: Inspiration from the Regions, which will bring together representatives of local governments, service providers, and experts in community care development.

The event is primarily intended for representatives of regions and municipalities, providers of social and health-social services, public administration employees, innovation agencies, service development experts, and other stakeholders interested in assistive technologies and community care.

The aim of the panel is to show how to effectively raise awareness of assistive technologies among the public, caregivers, and service providers.

12:30-13:45 PANEL: Places where technology can be tried out

The aim of the panel is to present various models of centers and places in the Czech Republic where assistive technologies can be tested and introduced to the public and experts.

  • Smart technology demonstration apartment in Zlín (Mariem Bolcková, Technological Innovation Center Zlín)
  • Assistive Technology Center at the Socio Info Point Brno Counseling Center (Terezie Jouklová, Brno City Hall)
  • Current readiness of the social assistance environment for the widespread use of modern technologies (Petr Panýrek, TELMED HTP s.r.o.)

2:15-3:50 p.m. PANEL: Supporting the introduction of technologies in municipalities and services

The aim is to present specific financial, methodological, and organizational tools that help put assistive technologies into practice.

  • Comprehensive care for the safety and health of citizens: An integrated model of safety, social care, and telemedicine in practice in cities (Lubomír Teichman, Lumír Prejda, Milan Glonka, Jindřiška Kosinová)
  • Vision for the development of advanced technologies in the social sphere and their financing in the Moravian-Silesian Region (Tomáš Mičkal and Radim Miklušák, Moravian-Silesian Region)
  • South Moravian Region and subsidy title for municipalities to support the construction of special-purpose housing, which includes support for assistive technologies (Iveta Macurová, South Moravian Region)

Workshop

Following the conference, you can register for the workshop, The Future of Care for Seniors in Your Community, which is an opportunity to share practical experiences and discuss current needs in the field of social services. Its aim is to identify gaps – i.e., which services are already lacking and which will be critically lacking in the near future, to evaluate cooperation with companies providing field and outpatient services, and to propose specific ways to address the situation.
