Association Day 2025

  • Participation

In April, the second annual Association Day occurred under the auspices of the Governor of the South Moravian Region Jan Grolich and Mayor of the Trnava Self-Governing Region Jozef Viskupič. This event, organized within the framework of the project Creation of infoPoints and evaluation of grant calls to increase the effectiveness of public administration through the non-governmental sector of the Interreg VI-A Slovakia-Czech Republic program, will offer a Czech-Slovak festival with the participation of local associations and groups involved in the development of culture and life in the region. This year's Czech edition focused on the transformations of folk culture and folklore, their function in the 21st century, and the relationship of the young generation to traditions in the Czech and Slovak environment.

Association Day 2025 Association Day 2025

Why?

We believe in the power of active citizen engagement. That is why we support all those who contribute to the development of our region. Together, we strengthen the dialogue between citizens and local government and address regional challenges more effectively. With the Association Day and the whole project, we want to promote Czech-Slovak cooperation and remove possible barriers to cross-border cooperation.

What?

We aim to promote cross-border Czech-Slovak cooperation, mutual sharing of experience, and the transfer of cultural heritage.

How?

The festival offered panel discussions, workshops, and presentations by (not only) associations that actively contribute to the development of communities, the preservation of traditions, and the life of folklore. An important theme were the opportunities for cross-border cooperation and the identification of barriers to it. Thus, the association day did not only connect civil society actors but also promote the sustainability and innovation of traditional cultural forms.

What does this mean for people?

Association Day is about more than dialogue with public administration. It is about dialogue between associations, networking, enriching each other or sharing their stories.

Current progress

Association Day took place on 16 April 2025 in Velká nad Veličkou.
