In October, JINAG hosted the fourth meeting of the expert platform for participation, which brings together experts, organizations, and public administration with a common goal—to develop participation in the South Moravian Region. Participation means involving citizens in decision-making processes that affect their daily lives. This increases transparency and trust between citizens and local government, and the resulting decisions better reflect the real needs of local communities. The platform thus serves as a space for sharing experiences, finding solutions, and inspiring effective public involvement at the municipal, city, and regional levels.
In 2025, we at JINAG achieved the following:
- URBIS Challenge Hackateen – we organized another edition of the hackathon for elementary and high school students from all over the Czech Republic. Young participants sought innovative ideas for cities of the future.
- Improve Your School Project – 94 schools and one children's home participated, enhancing their school environments based on students' suggestions through a participatory approach.
- PARTICaffé – We ran the second edition of an educational program for local government representatives, focusing on practical participation training.
- Facilitated meetings with municipalities – we help municipalities involve citizens in decision-making processes for development and identify common priorities.
- Support for the Field Care in Education project – we participate in participatory planning for transforming professional practices in schools with a social and health focus.
- Strategic documents of the South Moravian Region – we contributed to the creation of the JMK 2025–2030 strategy and the Healthy Region 2026–2030 strategy.
- Infopoints in the region – we opened two new contact points in Hodonín and Kyjov, which help bring services closer to people in the region.
- Coolide – a smart app for regional communication – in cooperation with the Norwegian company Innocode, we have developed a tool for more effective information sharing between key players in the region.
- Innovation brokering – we have introduced our network of innovation brokers, who help connect players in the region and spread know-how in the field of participatory planning.
At JINAG, we are successfully cooperating with the South Moravian Region, municipalities, and cities, while also developing partnerships with the third sector and youth.
We would like to thank the representatives of the city of Brno, Kyjov, the South Moravian Region, the National Network of Healthy Cities, UCEEB CTU Prague, the Student Parliament of the Kyjov Polytechnic Secondary School, the Regional Student Assembly of the South Moravian Region, the South Moravian Council of Children and Youth, and Masaryk University for their participation.
