INVITATION: Seminar on water management solutions for Smart Líchy and wastewater treatment solutions at the Židlochovice WWTP
We invite you to an expert seminar focused on key aspects of sustainable water management within the unique project Smart Líchy and optimizing wastewater solutions for the Židlochovice WWTP. This meeting aims to openly discuss the proposed measures and contribute to their further development to meet the requirements of economic, environmental, and social sustainability. The seminar is intended for representatives of municipalities and experts.
Speakers at the seminar will include:
- Jan Bárta (JINAG), Jan Vitula (Town of Židlochovice): Presentation of the Smart Lychees project
- Karel Plotěný (ASIO), Jana Rose (TU Hamburg): Presentation of the water management proposal for the Chytré Líchy site
- Tomáš Šenkyřík (Town of Židlochovice): Retention of treated water from WWTP in the landscape

The seminar will cover the following topics:
Smart Líchy:
- What technical options for rainwater and groundwater use are best suited for a sustainable site? (discussion of centralized and decentralized supply options)
- Which of the proposed solutions for wastewater disposal (light grey and black water) best meet environmental, economic and social criteria?
- What are the risks associated with infiltration of treated grey water into groundwater? How can these risks be effectively managed?
- What legal and regulatory barriers may affect the implementation of the proposed solutions and how can these be overcome?
Retention of treated water from WWTPs in the landscape:
- Information on what are the current options to make this happen.
- What current legislation does and does not allow.
- Improving treated water quality through quaternary treatment.
- Piloting of quaternary treatment at the Židlochovice WWTP, degradation of micropollutants, pharmaceuticals nanoplastics, etc. name of pilot project: Biological filter to treat pollutant residues in WWTP.
The Smart Líchy project represents a prototype of modern and sustainable construction that emphasizes ecology and innovative technologies with a positive impact also on social ties in the community. The seminar offers a unique opportunity to participate in shaping visions that can inspire not only municipalities and cities in the Czech Republic but also other enthusiasts for sustainable development.
