The European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) is the largest annual event dedicated to cohesion policy, taking place this year in Brussels from 7 to 10 October 2024 under the theme "Strengthening Communities". The EU's cohesion policy aims to reduce the disparities between the levels of development of different regions, to help the most disadvantaged areas and to strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion to achieve a balanced development of the European Union as a whole.
During the event, cities and regions showcased the importance of local and regional levels for European governance. Participants can discuss common challenges for European regions and cities and explore possible solutions by bringing together politicians, decision-makers, experts and practitioners of cohesion policy, and stakeholders from business, banking, civil society organisations, academia, EU institutions and the media.
Don't miss the lecture on the Climate Action Plan.
Find out how strategic planning, with input from experts and those affected, is shaping the South Moravian Region's Climate Action Plan at an inspiring lecture by our Climate Specialist, Dita Tesarova, as part of the European Week of the Regions in Brussels on 8 October.
The Climate Action Plan for the South Moravian Region is being prepared by JINAG as a tool to kick-start adaptation to the impacts of climate change, such as heat waves or droughts, and to mitigate its intensification. This includes measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by developing emission-free energy sources and energy savings, for example, through in-depth renovation of buildings.

We also recommend an interactive workshop on regional challenges under the auspices of the Representation of the South Moravian Region to the EU in Brussels. Through dynamic challenges, it works with other participants to overcome the challenges facing European regions.
