FOODhack 25: Looking for a way to better food for our children
School cafeterias, local farmers, and municipal and state officials at one table - that was FOODhack 25! We organized an event in cooperation with the TPS “Application of local food in public catering” CSV SZIF to create a space for networking, sharing, and finding concrete solutions.
- How to get more quality and local ingredients into school canteens.
- How to use the ongoing systemic changes to benefit children, regional producers and the health of society as a whole.
- How to encourage voluntarism, collaboration and guidance instead of regulation and regulation.
The main goal of the event was to name the issues that are holding us back and connect those who want to do something about it.
FOODhack 25 took place in the presence of the Deputy Governor of the South Moravian Region Marek Sovka, the Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek, the Chief Hygienist Barbara Macková (SZÚ), and the Deputy Minister of the Environment Eduard Levy - connecting practice and decision makers is key!
We are learning how to do it better. Together. So that children eat healthier. And so that the food can come from the neighbor.
Because better an apple from a neighbor than a papaya from who knows where!
