We are looking for: Data Analyst

We are looking for a senior data analyst specializing in geoinformatics who enjoys working with spatial data, visualizations, and linking information from various sources. We appreciate the ability to communicate data to the public in an engaging way. The information you process can significantly help in deciding what to focus on in the region to make our lives COOL.
 
Your main job will be to collect, manage, and analyze data for the needs of the South Moravian Region—the results of your work will be practical outputs, guidelines, and decision-making materials in the areas of the environment, climate, and social health.
 
If you have experience in data analytics, are familiar with GIS or spatial data, enjoy seeking systemic solutions, and want your work to have a real impact, then we are looking for you!

What you will be responsible for

  • developing the CoolRegion portal www.coolregion.eu, which serves as a starting point for searching for data and information on the environment, climate and social health sector in the South Moravian Region
  • creating data-oriented articles, preparing visualizations, and publishing data sets
  • setting up automated data flow processes
  • communicating with GIS technical support
  • communicating across teams, as well as with partners from public administration, universities, companies, and other organizations

What we need from you:

  • experience with data analysis, ideally in the public sector
  • advanced knowledge of GIS (our tech stack is based on ESRI platforms and tools, in particular ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online) the data platform runs on ArcGIS Hub
  • basics of programming in Python
  • experience with spatial data and open source data
  • awareness of data portals for public administration
  • ability to interpret data for target groups (municipal leaders and residents of the South Moravian Region)

Personal qualities:

  • flexibility and a high degree of self-management due to the diverse nature of the work
  • presentation skills – you will be communicating with the public administration
  • responsibility, reliability, teamwork
  • ability to communicate at a professional level
  • willingness to work in Google Workspace, Notion, and Asana

Working hours:  We prefer full-time (1.0 FTE)
Selection process:  It will consist of two rounds. It will include a practical task to test your analytical and data skills.
